Privacy Policy for House Party Radio Player
Effective Date: 7 August 2025
This Privacy Policy describes how House Party Radio (“we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, and shares information when you use our mobile application, House Party Radio Player (the “Service”).
We collect information in a few different ways to provide and improve our Service to you.
- Contact Form Submissions: If you choose to contact us through the in-app contact form, we collect the information you provide, which includes:
- Your Name
- Your Email Address
- The Subject and Message content
- Contextual & Diagnostic Data: To help us provide better support, the form may also include contextual information (like the show that is currently playing on House Party Radio, your selected region, and current playback state) and diagnostic metadata (like your app version, device platform, and network status).
When you use our app, we automatically collect certain information about your device and usage:
- Application Preferences: To enhance your user experience, we store your preferences directly on your device. This includes your choices for display mode (Light/Dark), radio region, and stream quality.
- Approximate Location: If you grant permission, we may use your device’s approximate location to automatically suggest the most relevant regional station. This permission can be managed in your device’s settings.
- Crash and Error Reports: To identify and fix bugs, we collect diagnostic data when the app or its supporting services encounter an error. This may include information about your device type, operating system, and the state of the app when the error occurred.
- IP Address (for Security): When you use our contact form, we temporarily log your IP address. This is used solely for security purposes (rate-limiting) to prevent spam and abuse.
We use the information we collect for the following purposes:
- To Provide and Personalise the Service: Your stored preferences allow us to tailor the app’s appearance and content for you.
- To Provide Enhanced Support: We use the contextual and diagnostic data submitted through the contact form to understand and resolve your inquiries more effectively.
- To Maintain and Improve Our Service: We may analyse crash reports to resolve technical issues and improve the app’s stability. We may also analyse contact form submissions in an aggregated, non-identifiable way to understand user trends.
- To Protect Our Service: We use your IP address on a temporary basis to protect our contact form from misuse.
3. Third-Party Services and Data Sharing
We do not sell your personal information. We use the following third-party services to operate our app. These services are our “data processors” and have their own privacy policies.
- Supabase: Our primary backend provider, which we use to host the app’s data (like schedules and track history), store images, provide real-time information, and securely process contact forms.
- You can view Supabase’s privacy policy here.
- Sentry: Our error monitoring and crash reporting service. When an error occurs, Sentry helps us diagnose it by collecting data such as your device type, operating system, and other diagnostic information.
- You can view Sentry’s privacy policy here.
- Telegram: To ensure your feedback is received promptly, messages sent via the contact form are securely forwarded to a private Telegram channel for the House Party Radio team.

4. Data Retention
We retain data for specific purposes and periods:
- Application Preferences: Stored on your device until you clear the app’s data or uninstall it.
- Contact Form Submissions: Messages are retained for as long as necessary to resolve your inquiry. The associated diagnostic data is stored in our analytics database to help us track issues and improve the service.
- IP Addresses: Retained for a maximum of one hour for rate-limiting purposes, after which they are deleted.
5. Data Security
We take reasonable measures to protect your information. Our backend, powered by Supabase, provides a secure environment for the data required to run our Service. However, no electronic transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
6. Children’s Privacy
Our Service is not intended for individuals under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from children under 13.
7. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy within the app.
